Think about how people are attracted to your business, and you can grow!
Since it’s still February, the theme of “attraction” is on my brain 😉 But, I’m not talking about physical attraction between two people…I’m talking about attracting the right people to your business. It doesn’t matter what type of business you might have – the bottom line is that if clients or customers aren’t coming and buying whatever you’re selling, then you won’t have a business for very long. No income = no business.
So how do you attract the right people to your business? Oh, there are so many ways! And, it depends on what type of business you have: brick-and-mortar, online, coaching, in-home, product-based, service-based….the list goes on! One theory you could go to is the Law of Attraction. This is basically the concept that “like attracts like”, and that the energy you put out (whether positive or negative) will attract the same type of energy. And I believe this does have an impact on the type of clients/customers you bring into your business. Think about it: who wants to go into a business where the owner is complaining all the time? Not me! I would rather walk into a business where the owner greets me with a smile and friendly “hello”. So turn that on it’s head and think “what attracts me to other businesses that I could add to mine and attract more people to my company”?
Of course, in terms of marketing to people, Inbound Marketing is becoming a big business. This is the concept that you as a business decide who your ideal client (or consumer) is, so that you can market directly to them in whatever stage of the “buying process” they are in. I won’t go into too much detail here…but needless to say if you’re starting from scratch, this may take a lot of time to set up and get going. But, once it’s running it will be easier to recreate, and adjust as needed. All that effort will be worth it, though, because the idea is that you are attracting higher QUALITY clients/consumers, who will either pay more for your product OR be repeat clients over time. They will also be good brand ambassadors for you and share your product with others.
So as this month of attraction draws to a close, think about what your brand or business is telling the people you are trying to attract to it. Look at it from their point of view, and ask yourself “would I work with/buy from them?”. If not, you might need to re-think a few things 😉
